The Sacrament of the Eucharist traces all the way to the Last Supper. As Catholics, we take Jesus at His word. He declared the bread and wine at that meal to be His Body and Blood and told us, "Do this in remembrance of me." We follow that command when we celebrate the Eucharist at Mass, where the priest acts with Jesus' authority to make His Body and Blood present again. We believe that in the Eucharist we truly encounter the whole Jesus--His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity--under the appearance of bread and wine.  The Eucharist is called the “Source and Summit” of the Catholic faith because it nourishes our faith and gives us the mountaintop experience of an encounter with God Himself!

At Immaculate Conception, we prepare children to receive First Communion in 2nd Grade. This is done either through our school or our Family Catechesis program.
